If you can upload the package to: > > ftp://kermit.columbia.edu/kermit/incoming/ > > I can distribute it from here too. Hello. I've uploaded it. Files: ckermit_211-1_i386.deb This is the binary package, installed with dpkg -i ckermit_211-1.diff.gz ckermit_211-1.dsc ckermit_211.orig.tar.gz These are the files for the source package. The .orig.tar.gz is the same as cku211.tar.gz. The source tree can be unpacked with dpkg-source -x ckermit_211-1.dsc Packages.gz Sources.gz If these two files are placed in a directory on a web site with the other files, it can act as an apt repository, so if the user puts the correct stanza into /etc/apt/sources.list, they can do apt-get install ckermit or apt-get source ckermit and if new versions are placed there, they will be automatically upgraded when the user upgrades with apt-get upgrade. As an example, the sources.list lines for my apt repository at http://nessie.mcc.ac.uk/~ianb/debian/ are: deb http://nessie.mcc.ac.uk/~ianb/debian/ ./ deb-src http://nessie.mcc.ac.uk/~ianb/debian/ ./ If you want, I can write up some instructions on how to do this for you to stick on your web site somewhere. md5sums: 1fd628174e2a677995370e0998d7b266 Packages.gz f270c6c84894fce12b1febca2b7e60b7 Sources.gz 10dd7d67ad1b5081ac091507feeb551a ckermit_211-1.diff.gz a12ad21763808e65fe6c51a21c4d0f95 ckermit_211-1.dsc 306b256e2a19b818a8c3f26ea5693504 ckermit_211-1_i386.deb e9e5f3e988a526e49cf177ca18719827 ckermit_211.orig.tar.gz Ian. -- Ian Beckwith - ianb@nessie.mcc.ac.uk - http://nessie.mcc.ac.uk/~ianb/ GPG fingerprint: AF6C C0F1 1E74 424B BCD5 4814 40EC C154 A8BA C1EA
