Create a compressed image by dragging and dropping. DropDMG supports the zlib, ADC, and NDIF compressed formats; as well as read-only and read-write images. It can encrypt images and post-process them with GZip or MacBinary. It also supports segmented images and images that auto-open when you mount them. All the options are available from AppleScript. DropDMG is robust and has no trouble handling folders with spaces, quotation marks, dollar signs, or other "special" characters. It even works without Mac OS X's optional "BSD Subsystem" installation. Full documentation is included in PDF and Apple Help formats. New in this Version: - Option to make images auto-open. When you mount an image, its window opens in the Finder. Previously, there might have been no visual indication that the image had mounted, depending on how the user's Finder preferences were set. - The status window has a contextual menu for quickly changing common preferences. - You can optionally set the names of the image file and volume, instead of having them based on the name of the folder. - Documentation is now included in Apple Help (HTML) format as well as PDF. - Contains a menu command for clearing the log. - No longer fails when copying files for which the user only has read privileges. - The radio buttons for selecting where the image will be saved are no longer linked to the image destination text field. That is, tabbing of the text field no longer affects the radio button's selection, making the preferences more friendly for keyboard navigators. (c) Copyright 2002 Major, major4@mac.com http://homepage.mac.com/major4 Freeware released under GPL license (included with the software). ffmpegX is a Mac OS X GUI to ffmpeg the "hyper fast video and audio encoder" (http://ffmpeg.sourceforge.net). It can decode MPEG1, MPEG2, MPEG4 (aka DIVX4/5), VOB, AVI MS-MPEG4 V3 (aka DIVX 3), WAV, Real Audio, H263(+) (aka RealVideo 1.0), PGM, YUV, PPM, AC3, PCM8/16 bits, mulaw/Alaw, SUN AU format, MPEG audio layer 2, MPEG audio layer 3, MJPEG and even more formats. This GUI provides quick transcoding to DivX, MPG1, MP2, MP3 & AC3. You can i.e. convert DVD video to DivX, DivX to VCD or XVCD, and DVD to VCD or XVCD. Includes a bitrate calculator and an automatic size calculator. When encoding to MPG1 it can generate .bin/.cue files for instant burning with Cdrdao or Toast (drop the .bin into VCD window). Be sure to install the latest AppleScript update (through Software Update). System Requirements - Mac OS X 10.1.5 - Use Software update to install latest AppleScript update. - To playback DivX, use codecs from www.3ivx.com or www.divx.com. What's new in 0.0.2? Various GUI fixes. New defaults for advanced settings tab (and new quantizer defaults). Added combo boxes for audio bitrate, audio sampling rate, video framerate. Leaving size fields blank will default them to 640x352. Leaving audio bitrate and audio sampling rate blank will default them to 128 kbps and 44100 Hz. Added Audio settings > Track to select the source audio track to be encoded (to be used in case of multitrack audio source material). Set MPEG-1 format to ISO packet size output for VCD use. Video bitrate calculator correctly handles case of video encoding only (ie when "Encode audio" is not checked). New 'Post-processing' tab allows for additional processing to be done on encoded output. Current available option is converting a DivX file into Mpeg1 and then post-processing the Mpeg1 file into a VCD image (compatible with Toast Video CD mode and with cdrdao). vcdgear 1.6 by Dracore has been packed in for mpg2bin conversion. French GUI translation by gorgar. Italian GUI translation by the_pappardella. New icon by Justin Woods. Simply point, click and type the text needed to display, without the need to manipulate text descriptors manually and type time codes one by one. Textation can also check the validity of time codes while you input data. Textation also supports creations of Chapter Tracks and HREF Tracks, as well as subtitle/caption tracks. It is easy to create these types of tracks in seconds using Textation. You can also preview the resulting movie on the same project window by just clicking a switch. What's New - This version lets you import a text file into a new text track. This is useful for creating subtitle/caption track of a long movie. - This version adds Automatic Preview function. - This version adds steppers next to various text input boxes. - This version adds two new menu items: Half Size, Double Size. - This version adds a new preference item: Set dimensions of new track same as reference movie. - You can disable Textation to resize window when setting the reference movie. - You can input sample text on the project window as well as on the Sample Info window. - On the Sample Info window, the track info tab view will appear only if Override Track Info is checked. - When adding new sample, Textation will base on the current movie time to insert the newly created sample into the correct row. - After updating the preview movie, Textation restores the movie time and sets the movie active. You can then use keyboard to control the movie play-back, for example, press space-bar to start playing. - This version fixes an incompatibility with QuickTime 6 Public Preview 1. But it's also very valuable for the amateur with a smaller web site who wants to make sure that his or her site is always in top condition. It checks your web pages for dangling tags, missing attributes and broken links, and - most importantly - it makes your pages load faster by optimizing both HTML and script code. The program features Smart Handling which means that only the pages that you have changed are processed, i.e checked and/or optimized. Web Site Maestro helps you keep organized by creating a duplicate site folder for the optimized files. An added benefit is that it leaves your original files untouched. Uploading your optimized pages to a remote server is done with one mouseclick. Drag and drop is supported. Web Site Maestro comes in four models: Mac Classic - PPC and 68K, Mac OS X and Windows. With this you have the PPC model. If, however, I select a non-postscript printer in the chooser, I am unable to switch back to priting postscript again when I have no connection to a postscript printer. This seems kind of silly. Since I can print to a postscript file without having any printer connected, why should I not be allowed this after switching temporarily to a non-postscript printer? ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 09 Jul 2002 23:04:48 +0100 From: Tom Murphy/Tom=?ISO-8859-1?B?4XMgTyBNdXJjaPo=?= To: infomac Subject: Vinyl Is there a method of transferring vinyl recordings to Hard disk.?
