Version 4.3 fixes a few bugs and improves functionality in several areas. Most notably: The Get Info Window Changed File Buddy's behavior when launched by dropping a file onto File Buddy's icon and it comes up in the Get Info window. In prior versions, trying to drop a second file produced an alert that said "Only one Get Info window is allowed when File Buddy is opened by dropping files to the Get Info window.", and File Buddy would quit when the window was closed. Dropping a second file opens another Get Info window, and sets File Buddy to not quit when they close. File droplets created by the Get Info window now have the option to launch files dropped on them after making changes. Double-click a droplet to set this capablility. The Find Window As before, if a folder in the Find window's folder list is not available, the icon next to it is dimmed (or blank). Now, instead of ignoring clicks on dimmed icons, one of two alerts will appear. If the item resides on a volume that is not available, an alert asks you to insert the disk on which the folder resides. If the folder has been deleted, a different alert is displayed. File List Windows The Rename Sequentially... command (in the Special popup menu in file list windows) has a new feature. If the base name entered begins with an asterick '*', the rest of the base name and number are appended to each file's original name instead of replacing the original file name with the base name. Copying Files File Buddy now supports multiple copy operations, and the copy progress dialogs are no longer modal. Copying files is more responsive to canceling, faster, and more accurate in predicting whether or not there is adequate space to complete the copy. There are several changes to what is seen when copying files with the Replace Different option: First, only the number of items that will actually be copied is shown, not the number of items that would be copied in a normal copy operation. It can globally override all of your folder-specific view settings, making MacOS 8 behave more like System 7, or easily change the requested view settings for single folders or entire disks. To globally override the view settings, Finder View Settings must be stored in the Control Panels folder so it can patch the System at startup. You can then enable or disable the Finder overriding option with the appropriate check box in the main window. To permanently change the view settings for a given set of folders, you can drop them on the Control Panel's icon or into the main window. The application has Mac-Draw like graphic entry of resistors, capacitors, inductors, diodes, and dependant or independant voltage or current sources. Clusters of components can be assembled to subcircuits. The number of components in this freeware version is limited to 60. 15 types of independant sources (generators) are available, ranging from sine, step, pulse, or free (graphically entered) waveforms to those used in power electronics like pwm inverters and thyristor rectifiers. The sweep is plotted during the calculation. Intervention is possible to modify anything in the circuit, then the sweep can be resumed. Many sweeps can be displayed on one screen to see long term effecets, or to see what changed after a circuit modification. Smart Scroll enhances regular scroll bars so they show how much of a document is displayed in a window. The indicator thumb in scroll bars becomes proportional: If a window is displaying half of a document, the thumb will be half the scrollbar size. This gives you an idea of how large the document is, without having to scroll the window to find out. Try it for yourself, it speeds browsing the Net or going through your email, for example. Smart Scroll also adds Live Scrolling, which updates the display as you drag the scrollbar thumb. Just release the thumb when you see the part of the document you want: no more guessing where you'll end up! All scrollbars benefit from these improvements, even those hidden in Open and Save dialogs. After a few days of Smart Scroll, going back to regular scroll feels like something is missing! Changes in version 3.0J: *Supports Mac OS 8 *New Control Panel (with advice and ideas from Arlo Rose: Thanks!) *New 'Appearance' thumb style *Improved guessing of thumb proportions for many apps (thanks to Jens Alfke!) *Added support for Netscape (note: turn off Netscape's own Active Scrolling) *Added support for Eudora *Added support for CodeWarrior *Misc. changes and fixes (thanks to Mark Nagata!) *Fixed click-on-thumb bug in some list views when running alongside Kaleidoscope *New 'Exclude Applications' feature Christopher Li Bridge 1 Software English to Japanese Online Software Localization and Management mailto:ChrisLi@bridge1.com [Archived as /info-mac/gui/smart-scroll-30-jp.hqx; 147K] ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 1 Oct 1997 14:19:34 -0700 From: bolen@brbosoftware.com Subject: [*] Super Mac Freecell 1.5 Super Mac Freecell is a super addictive solitaire card game. TotoTurbo enormously facilitates your formulation of complex systems of Totocalcio. Have you even heard anything about Italian Totocalcio ? This very popular bet game is handled by CONI and bets are based on weekly soccer matches of the Italian championship. You have to guess the score of 13 matches, where the first matches are afforded by Serie A football teams. Your guess hasn't to be too accurate: you only have to guess which team wins or if they draw. TotoTurbo 1.1 lets you: - create systems from only 1 column to 13 triples - create customized systems with doubles, triples - constrain the columns with bounds on limits, consecutive signs, simmetries and interruptions - reduce the constrained system to get second and third category wins - print the columns on paper and directly to forms - import, export and manage the whole championship - check the system to see if you have won The great force of TotoTurbo is its speed: it can create, constrain systems in real time and it's able to get reduced systems is few seconds on PowerPC processors.
