Silverstein" To: Info-mac Subject: Acrobat 5 automatically launches in MS Explorer When I had Acrobat 4 installed and I chose a link to a PDF document in Explorer, the document would automatically download in the background. Then I installed Acrobat 5. Now, when I use Explorer and choose a link that is connected to a PDF file, Explorer opens Acrobat and opens the file. This is very annoying and time consuming. I would like to return to having Explorer automatically download PDF files in the background. (If I know I am about to hit a PDF link then I can use the right mouse button to save to disk. However, most of the time I do not know that the link is connected to a PDF document.) I have looked over the settings in Exporer and in Acrobat, but I cannot find the one to make the documents automatically download in the background. Can someone out there help me?? To: Subject: word problems I am reluctantly switching over from WordPerfect 3.5e [can't seem to stop incessant "document error" problems] to Word 98 and keep encountering a memory problem. I use a Mac G-4 with OS 9.2. When I attempt to save a document in Word, I sometimes get an error message saying the disk is full or too many files are open. However, I have abundant memory (both set for Word and in RAM) and often have only one to three short documents open. How can I get rid of this problem? Also, do you have any fixes for the plague of "document error" messages on WP (which, were it not for that, is a superior program)?
