Enclosed are two floppies with the 1.040 release of our version of Kermit
for Unisys A-Series systems.  This is an upgrade of "B78" Kermit 1.019.  The
important new features of this release are:  long packets, alternate
block-checks, and the "take" command.  The program has also been modified to
use the A-Series hardware more efficiently.

This release contains the Kermit symbol (written in Algol) and two
documentation files.  We will continue to distribute Kermit directly to
A-Series sites who contact us.  We will also consult with new Kermit users to
help them get started.  There is no fee for either service.  You may refer any
Unisys A-Series users to us.  Also, please feel free to contact me if I can
help with any A-Series questions.
