I just noticed that the RDB version in scripts/dbase is several years out of
date. There's a current version on the canonical site:
ftp://rand.org/pub/RDB/hobbs/
Maybe the archive should be replaced with a pointer to the canonical
site.

| I remember sometimes ago using a copy of rdb/perl
| which edittbl command had a curses interface.
| I grabbed rdb/perl a few days ago from rand.org,
| but this copy contained another version of edittbl
| with a much simplier interface (vi or similar
| was just being used).
| Was this some 'unofficial extension' ??
| Could someone enlighten me on this ?
Actually the command 'etbl' has always used the editor the user specifies.
The default can be set as desired.
Perhaps you had an advanced version of 'dataent' which does use a curses
interface. This version is not done as I have not had time to finish it.
It uses the curses interface, via some code from Henk P. Penning, at Utrecht
University. I believe it does most things ok except it does not scroll the
screen when needed, otherwise it may be nearly done.
(That is if you have less data columns than the number of rows on your
screen it works fine.
I'll send you the advanced (not yet posted) version if it might help if you
give me a good email address.
