Drag and Drop

Drag and Drop -- The file manager and the
program manager support drag and drop. In this
mode a selected file or group of files can be
dragged and dropped onto an application or a
directory. The file manager interprets dragging
and dropping a file (directory) into an open space
or directory as a move command. Holding the
control key while dragging the file group results
in a copy command. Holding the Shift and Control
key results in a link being formed between the
target directory and the source file. The
          selected directory structure is
          copied/moved/linked to the indicated directory.
Inspection of the target directory will indicate
that the selected directory structure has been
attached to the target directory. A file can be
dragged and dropped onto an executable file. The
file manager will attempt to launch the target
application with the selected file or files as a
parameter. A file can be dragged and dropped onto
the program manager. If the file is dropped onto
an application in the program manager, then the
application acts on the file. For instance
dragging and dropping a group of files onto the
printer icon in the applications manager will
          invoke the printer tool.
