Selecting Multiple Items

Selecting objects one at a time can be tedious.
The Freedom Desktop offers several alternatives
          for selecting multiple files.

Boxing Items -- The mouse can be used to select
multiple items. Move the cursor above and a
little to the left of an icon, or group of icons.
Depress the mouse button number one and hold the
button down. Move the mouse diagonally down and
to the right. A phantom outline of a box will
appear on the screen. Surround the group of files
that you wish to select with the phantom box.
Release the number one button. This action
selects (highlights) the boxed items. The box
can be drawn from the lower right hand side to the
upper left hand side with equal effect. There is
a shift-click technique for selecting additional
files if they will not fit within the box. Use
the shift-click technique to delete unwanted items
without de selecting the entire group.

Shift Clicking - Holding the shift key down and
clicking with the mouse selects additional items.
Holding the shift key while clicking
with the mouse will add items to the ones
already selected. The user can delete unwanted
items from a group, without losing the rest of the
section, by holding the shift key and clicking on
          the item to deselect it.
